A new innovative market place for film-makers, distributors, and businessmen in this field was created by Ipex. They claim to be The New Landscape of Film Distribution in the Digital Era. What is truly innovative is that it is an online TV channel specifically for exhibiting your work, and finding buyers. It also works the other way around.
There is clearly a strong need to integrate the online and offline media in this era, and this seems to be a perfect way of facilitating the selling and buying of video programming that can be broadcast through traditional TV as well as portable devices.
The most important segment that will benefit from this marketplace are the producers on the long tail of video production. These are the small unknown talented people, who can have some good stuff to produce, but don’t have either the funds to distribute or the relevant knowledge. I guess most of them lack both. Producers usually exhibit trailers of their work to use as samples, in hope of finding the buyer.
They have a really cool video about how to be a man in Melanesia.
Seems it’s not that easy being a man over there!
